Rupert Spira, deeply interested in reality’s nature since a young age, began meditating at seventeen and studied Advaita Vedanta for twenty years under Dr. Francis Roles and Shantananda Saraswati. He also delved into teachings by Ouspensky, Krishnamurti, Rumi, and others. In 1997, he met his teacher, Francis Lucille, who introduced him to the Direct Path teachings of Atmananda Krishna Menon and Kashmir Shaivism. Lucille significantly influenced Spira’s understanding of experience. Spira, based in the UK, conducts regular meetings and retreats in Europe and the USA.
